Today I have a basic post that will go with a healthy fall appetizer recipe I’ll give you on Wednesday. I love appetizers on holidays – especially healthy ones so there’s no guilt involved! My plan is to eat healthy stuff first so I won’t eat as much bad stuff! At least, that’s the plan.
Roasted garlic is a lovely twist in any recipe calling for garlic, it’s also a great gluten-free appetizer in itself! The health benefits of garlic are extensive and if you’re needing to fight any buggies like cold or flu symptoms, garlic is a great go to. Google it.
Roasted Garlic Recipe
Use about 1t of olive oil per 5-6 cloves of garlic
(I roasted 7 cloves so I used just over 1t of oil)
Preheat the oven to 350. Cut the top 1/4 of the cloves off to expose the garlic. Set the cloves in foil and drizzle with olive oil.
Twist the foil shut to keep all the oil and steam inside and place on an oven-safe dish.
Roast in the oven for about 50 minutes. When finished, pull the baking sheet out and allow to cool until you are able to touch the foil.
Squeeze the garlic out of it’s outer sheath. Serve as part of an appetizer, or incorporate garlic into a sauce or hummus. So simple and delicious!
