You’ve seen them all over Pinterest, but have you actually tried them??? Naturally flavoring water is so easy and so good for you. I’ll throw some fruit and mint leaves into my water on my way to work and each sip kinda makes me feel like I’m at the spa.
Water is the healthiest beverage possible, and if you’re vowing to drink more of it, you may need to switch it up once in awhile so you don’t get bored. Bonus, by adding healthy fruits and herbs, you’re getting the benefits of those vitamin packed goodies, too.
Some herbs will release more flavor when crushed, though this isn’t necessary. Some days I’ll throw strawberry slices and mint into my water bottle and do nothing special. Other days I’ll crush the mint, squeeze the citrus, etc. It’s up to your personal preference.
My personal favorite combination is: Lemon + Fresh Mint

so far I have tried lemon, lime, orange, and mint
I have mint, lemon, cucumber in the fridge right now- letting it steep overnight.
I also had basil and orange for the last two day.

I love the combinations of strawberries-blackberries-lemon and orange. It’s the best one yet. But I’m always combining new ingredients.

Any idea on how long the fruits will last if kept in the pitcher in the fridge?

Great question! Heartier fruits like citrus and apples would last several days (though I do not care for lemon with the rind/pith in water for more than a few hours as it bitters) and more delicate fruit like berries would be fine overnight but I probably wouldn’t leave them more than a day.
